Karis Wiebe | Soprano & Concert Artist

Karis Wiebe has established herself as a brilliant and expressive soprano on the concert stages of both Europe and Canada. Her singing has been praised as "having shining tone quality, virtuoso ornamentation, and full of expressive interpretation”.  - Frankfurter Neue Presse

Equally at home in opera, her signature operatic roles include Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Critics praised her performance, noting that “Wiebe delivered Konstanze with magically light coloratura.” - Suddeutsche Zeitung

She has appeared locally with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra and the Winnipeg Symphony. Internationally, her career includes performances with various prominent opera houses and orchestral ensembles across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Slovenia.

Karis shines brilliantly in sacred oratorio, bringing profound emotional depth to masterworks such as Bach’s St. John Passion and St. Matthew Passion. She possesses a deep passion for the classical concert repertoire and is especially celebrated for her sensitive interpretation of German Lieder and Italian Art Songs.

Beyond her solo performance career, Karis is an active choral conductor, vocal clinician and collaborative pianist. She currently directs the Choral Department and the innovative Commercial Songwriting program at Grant Park High School in Winnipeg. Furthermore, she serves as the Associate Conductor of the renowned Soli Deo Gloria choir and is the former Minister of Music at First Mennonite Church. She owns and operates Karis Wiebe Studios providing elite training in voice, piano, songwriting, and music theory. She is also the founder of the global vocal program, Sing It Smart and is currently developing Key It Smart to expand her signature digital training into keyboard and piano mastery.
